Engagement Photoshoot in Downtown Tampa & at the FOUNDATION Coffee co.

Living in Canada, winters can be very cold. And as much I love a beautiful snowy photoshoot, I wouldn't mind going somewhere warm once in while. So when Cindy and Greg asked me to have their engagement / pre-wedding photoshoot in Tampa, Florida in February, I was the happiest photographer ever.

I had never been to Tampa before and was very excited to discover this new city with my lovely couple. I arrived few days before our scheduled shoots and spend hours and hours walking and driving around the city scouting for the best and most unique locations.

To my surprise, Tampa was a very charming city combining both the modern sky scraper filled business district and the laid back neighborhoods with their independent cafes and street art. And what really charmed me was the miles and miles of waterfront walkways overlooking the Tampa Bay.

In addition, just 30 min drive from downtown Tampa, you find yourself in St Petersburg which has some of the most beautiful beaches in Florida. We actually ended up driving with Cindy and Greg on a separate day for another engagement session at St Pete Beach which I will be blogging soon.

The afternoon we stayed in downtown Tampa, we had the first part of the engagement shoot at THE FOUNDATION Coffee co. . Finding this gem of a cafe in Tampa Heights was an absolute stroke of luck. The café has a nice outdoors sitting section filled with beautiful plants and they serve some of the best coffee I’ve ever had.

We arrived there in the early afternoon and the cafe was not very crowded and we really appreciated when the managers at THE FOUNDATION Coffee co. allowed us to take pictures there. I totally recommend that you add this lovely coffee shop to your itinerary next time you visit Tampa.

Cindy and Greg loved hanging out at The Foundation Coffee co, and we ended up staying there for over one hour chatting and snapping amazing candid shots of these two lovebirds.

After getting our caffeine fuel, and before leaving Tampa Heights, we had to have a mandatory stop by the most famous mural in Tampa. "Historic Central Avenue" Mural was pained by Tony Moore and we had to play the “tourists” and stop by for a photo there.

Our last stop was to catch the sunset over the central business district of Tampa. The view of the city and Tampa bay was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect romantic setting to wrap up the first day of the engagement shoot for Cindy and Greg.

I had a great day having fun with Cindy and Greg and like every other engagement photoshoot, I loved getting to know them more and was pleasantly surprised when they wanted to incorporate some aspects of their favorite Science-Fiction ; Dr. Who in some of their photos. Can you spot it ?
